I was thinking about you today when I ran across this quote:

The longer I live, the more I am certain that the great difference
between the great and the insignificant, is energy — invincible determination.

It’s so TRUE, isn’t it? I know you’re under a lot of stress and have a zillion things going on, but I want to encourage you to stick with improving the quality of the product that you bring to kids each day. It’s really the most important effort we make!

I also want to encourage you to keep your skills high…and growing. The Common Core work that we’re doing is not easy and it’s not going away – and just like the quote above reminds us, this work requires great energy. I know that you have expended a TON of energy in the work already and are feeling, much like me, “Are we there yet????” Well the truth is, we’re not. Not even close. (I know, let that sink in a bit…it’s a tough one!)

But one thing that’s emerging for me is how absolutely essential it is for us to keep our Common Core skills high.

The truth is: I believe that the educators who KNOW MORE ABOUT the Standards and HOW THEY WORK will get better results.

Content is king when it comes to mastering these Standards.

So, I’d like for you to work with me today on learning more about RI.10 and RL.10 and the how to determine text complexity. I believe that your mastery of this concept is one of the “big ones” when it comes to changing instruction for kids.

Are you ready?

I recorded a quick audio message. “Making Text Complexity Do-Able!” for you – click the link to listen in!

Be looking for a special message from me on a brand new Academy that we’re launching in a bit…I think you’ll like it. 😉

With love and ENERGY!
