How to Coach Teachers to Teach Almost Anything Training

September 5-6, 2019 | For Principals and Instructional Coaches

Who?  New, semi-experienced and veteran principals and instructional coaches

What? Two days of live training with Jill Jackson where she teaches you a very simple, practical plan for knowing how to coach, what to coach and who to coach

When?  September 5-6, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. your local time

Where? You gather your people in a training room in your district with a screen, hardwired-to-the-internet computer and lots of enthusiasm…and Jill comes to you live via telecast

Why? Again and again people will call on Jill to give coaching the “legs” it needs…when they have all of the understanding of coaching, but are having a bit of trouble knowing exactly how to get in on the ground quickly and simply

What are Some of the Highlights of What We’ll Learn How to Do?

  • How to differentiate coaching based upon teacher skill and attitude
  • How to set a coaching calendar based upon the needs of each teacher
  • How to approach a teacher for coaching without being awkward and weird
  • How to collaborate with the principal/coach so that you don’t confuse or freak-out teachers
  • How to debrief a teacher so that they take immediate action in their classroom every time
  • How to diagnose and work with crabby, closed or resistant teachers

FAQs

Where is this training held?

We will have 40 “host sites” across the country for September 5-6,2019…that means that 40 schools/districts have decided to pull a group together to a spot in their district or school to gather around a large screen and participate in the telecast  (The big perk?  No travel expense or lost travel days…and you can pack the room with as many people in your district as you want!)

Does this training work for any group size?

Yes! We created the live telecast option so that very small, average or very large groups can actively be a part of this training.  We have tested this over several events where we have had groups of 1, 6 all the way up to 50!

Will we feel disconnected because Jill isn't physically in our room?

Not all all!  Each participant will have text, video and audio access to Jill to ask all questions, get clarification and give feedback throughout the day…right from their personal phones!  We have even had some participants say that they felt MORE connected because they felt like they asked questions directly via text that they might not have otherwise.

Do we have to have special technology?

Nope!  You’ll need a hard-wired internet connection to a laptop, a screen to project to with some wired speakers and that’s it!  We hold your hand on the technology stuff and even do a 30 minutes “tech check” the day prior to the training to make sure that everything is working perfectly at our 40 host sites!

Who should come?

We get great results and feedback from this training when principals and coaches are in the room together, though it’s not required!  We encourage you to also add some future coaches or leaders to your group so you are building your future team, too!

What are the hours of the training?

The training will be a typical 8 hour day with morning, lunch and afternoon breaks…more to come on this closer to the event!
